🧺 How to Wash Your Snuggle Square (Without Breaking Its Little Fluffy Heart)
Because even the fluffiest things need a good bath sometimes.
Ah, the Snuggle Square. Trusted comforter, nap time MVP, biscuit crumb collector, and occasional tissue substitute. It’s seen things. It’s been places. (Mostly under the sofa.)
And now… it needs a wash.
But don’t panic! Washing your Snuggle Square is easy — as long as you follow a few golden rules. I’ve put together this handy guide so your chenille snuggly comes out of the wash just as soft, squishy, and snuggle-worthy as ever.
🧼 Step 1: Into the Wash — But Gently Does It!
Let’s keep this relationship low-stress. Pop your Snuggle Square into the washing machine on a gentle cycle at 30°C.
That’s warm enough to clean, but cool enough to be kind.
🫧 Top tip: Pop it in a mesh laundry bag or pillowcase to avoid any washing machine drama (twists, pulls, or — heaven forbid — pilling).
🚫 Step 2: Absolutely No Tumble Dryers
I know the dryer is tempting. It's quick. It’s efficient. But it’s also pure evil for our soft chenille.
Tumble drying can flatten the fluff, stretch the knit, and make your Snuggle Square look like it partied too hard at laundry club.
👩🍼 Instead: Lay flat to dry or hang it gently somewhere with airflow. Think “spa day” not “spin class.”
🧴 Step 3: Keep the Chemicals at Bay
-
❌ No bleach (unless you're into crispy, sad comforters)
-
❌ No fabric softener — ironic, I know, but it actually makes things less soft over time
-
✅ Mild detergent, baby-safe if possible
Your Snuggle Square has sensitive feelings. Treat it kindly 💕
👕 Step 4: Spot Clean Like a Pro
For tiny messes (hello banana smear 👋), a damp cloth and a bit of baby shampoo go a long way.
A gentle dab and a wipe — and voilà!
Disaster averted.
🧸 Step 5: Fluff & Re-Snuggle
Once dry, give it a little fluff with your hands — or let your little one do the honours.
Final Tip: Snuggle Squares Age Like Fine Wine 🍷 (but fluffier)
With the right care, your Snuggle Square will only get better with time — softer, snugglier, and full of love (and probably a few fond stains).
So go on — give it the spa treatment it deserves. Your baby (and their favourite lovey) will thank you.

Always have a back-up blanket or snuggle square - or join the 3am club of parents who voice note me in the middle of night because they lost their lovey at the park and now nobody can sleep (you know who you are!)
